Eyre

Harold Eyre was a carriage builder employed at the Ipswich Railway Workshop, he was promoted to sub-foreman carriage builder. He was a representative on the Railway Workshop apprenticeship committee in 1924 and a federated union delicate in 1927. He lived at 109 Downs Street, North Ipswich, which is the same street that Jorgen Christensen lived. He retired in 1952. His reel had a distinctive spring-loaded press-down release button on the turn table. He was a keen member of the Ipswich Railway Fishing Club participating in most of their fishing trips in the 1920’s.
