Taylor

Rhys Taylor started his repetition engineering business R.R Taylor and Co. in 1930. Operating from 364 Kent Street Sydney. Around 1935 he produced his first reel, less than 100 of these were made, it wasn’t until 1951, that a re-designed Taylor reel appeared on the market. The early models were unbranded. In 1954, the Taylor brand was promoted. In 1949 a smaller version was produced for Stuart and Allwood under the Steelite brand called the ‘Fishkil’ which were also available in a Sidecast reel.
