J.W. Handley a manufacturing jeweller of Abbotsford Victoria produced a range of Handley bait-casting reels. They came in 3 production models A, B and C series. Recently a model E has turned up with an adjustable brake on the end. The spool is easily removed by unscrewing three screws on the side-plate. The level wind remains intact when the side plate is removed, this makes it easier to change the spool without fear of dropping small parts. J.W. Handley also manufactured watches and bowls tape measures. During World War II they made compasses for the Australian Army.
