Kalua

Kalua reels were made in the late 1940’s by George Phillips, a member of the ‘Manly Casting and Surf Angling’ club. He sold his business to John Stevenson of S&S engineering who continued to manufacture a re-designed Kalua reel during the 1950’s. John Stevenson was an engineer by trade. Some of the items his firm made were the Carburettors for Victa Mowers and steel frame Dressmaker models.
